IT 240 Linux Operating System Prerequisite: IT 140 with a grade of C or better (recommended); Placement into ENG 099 or higher 2 lectures, 2 lab hrs per week: 3 hrs credit This course provides an in-depth study of and hands-on experience with the primary functions of the Linux operating system. The major essential command-line commands, as well as use of the graphical user interface are covered. This course provides theoretical and practical concepts including file systems, elementary shell scripting, and other end-use knowledge necessary to move to the next level of basic system administration. Basic administrative tasks that are necessary for maintaining a working system are explored.
