DH 109 Clinical Dental Hygiene II Prerequisite: DH 108 2 lectures, 8 lab hrs per week 4 hrs credit This course is a continuation of the emphasis of the role of the dental hygienist as a preventative oral health care provider. Lecture and clinical experience is devoted to analyzing assessment and the decision process in the implementation of the process of care. Students will begin utilizing their clinical skills in providing comprehensive care to clients in an ethical manner. Topics will include non-surgical periodontal supportive procedures such as documentation, calculus, instrumentation, and extrinsic stain removal and caries management.
