MA 122 Medical Billing and Insurance Processing

Prerequiste: Acceptance into the Medical Assisting Certificate program (recommended)

This course provides students with practical training in medical coding and billing procedures, emphasizing the application of third-party payer and managed care policies, procedures, and guidelines. Topics include obtaining referrals and pre-certifications, accurately completing insurance claim forms, and applying a physician’s fee schedule to ensure proper billing for services. Students will develop the skills necessary to navigate insurance requirements and support efficient reimbursement processes in healthcare settings.
