MA 102 Functional Anatomy and Physiology


Prerequiste: Acceptance into the Medical Assisting Certificate program (recommended)
3 lecture hours: 3 credit hours
This course introduces students to the major human body systems and their role in health maintenance, while providing a foundation in medical terminology essential for effective communication in healthcare settings. Common medical conditions are explored within each system, with emphasis on a structured approach that includes description, etiology, signs and symptoms, diagnostic procedures, treatment options, prognoses, and prevention strategies. Students will gain a clear and practical understanding of how the body functions, how disease impacts health, and how medical professionals address patient care across diverse clinical scenarios.
