COMM 104 Intercultural Communication

Prerequisite: Placement into ENG 099 or higher
3 lectures per week: 3 hrs transfer credit
This course examines the influence our culture has on our interpersonal relationships, civic engagement, workplace interactions, and political and mass communication landscapes. Further, it discusses the various types of culture including those that exist within the borders of the United States and those that span the globe. The course will review the major theories of intercultural communication as well as examine practical approaches to communicating more effectively with people from other cultures.
