MATH 153 Probability and Statistics(MI 902) Prerequisite: MATH 151 with a grade of “C” or better, or a qualifying score on the Math Placement Test 4 lectures per week: 4 hrs transfer credit This is an introductory course in probability and statistics intended for business majors and students at a level beyond college algebra. Topics covered include descriptive statistics, elementary probability, discrete and continuous probability distributions, sampling distributions and the Central Limit theorem, linear regression and correlation, and statistical inference for one and two samples including confident intervals and significance testing. Technology is used throughout. Students who complete this course cannot also receive credit for BUS 240 or MATH 115 . Cross listed at BUS 240 .
