ELECT 107 AC Motors and Generators Prerequisite: ELECT 103 with a C or better 2 lectures per week: 2 hrs credit This course is a study of AC generators and motors. The topics covered include the construction, basic principles, speed-voltage characteristics, and regulation of AC generators. Also covered are basic principles, speed-torque characteristics, types of field excitation, and starting procedures of motors. Single- and poly-phase generators, motors, and switching equipment are covered.
