ITCYB 143 Scripting and Security


Prerequisite:  IT 240   with a grade of C or better.
2 lectures, 2 lab hrs per week: 3 hrs credit
This course offers an in-depth introduction to and hands-on experience with modern common scripting languages including basic data types, control structures, regular expressions, input/output, and textual analysis.  The course enables students to identify potential vulnerabilities related to scripting and to generate basic scripts to exploit security weaknesses.  The students will create scripts that automate processes, perform batch operations, and extract information.
