BUS 141 Income Tax for Individuals


Prerequisite: Placement into MATH 091  or higher; placement into ENG 099   
3 lectures per week: 3 hrs credit
This course focuses on the fundamentals of federal and Illinois income tax preparation and planning. Topics include filing requirements, filing status, income, deductions, credits, taxation and advising taxpayers. Additionally, since this course covers the topic of the Enrolled Agent Exam, part l, students may use this course to prepare for the exam.

This course will meet twice a week for 75 minutes each time, for a total of 2.5 hours per week. The teaching semester is considered to be 15 weeks, for a total of 37.5 hours. Out of class time is 2 to 1 ratio, which is 75 hours. This course is a lecture/discussion format.
